SPARWOOD MUSEUM
The Natal Sparwood Heritage Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the histories of Sparwood , Corbin , Michel , Middletown and Natal .
The geology of the Elk Valley has provided a rich income for settlers for over 120 years . The Elk Valley ’ s mining activity is now centered around Sparwood , and the Sparwood Museum tells the story of how coal has been mined , how local communities have come and gone , and how local residents have lived through good times and bad .

Something very big is coming to the Sparwood Museum and a team of dedicated professionals have been working behind the scenes to get the new exhibit ready . CULTURE ON THE LAWN
Starting in July and held every Friday throughout the summer , the Sparwood Museum presents Culture On The Lawn . This outdoor event showcases artists and musicians from the Elk Valley to celebrate Sparwood ’ s culture both past and present . In conjunction with Sparwood ’ s Farmers Market , artisans will demonstrate their skills in various mediums including painting , sketching or crocheting and will be available for purchase . In addition , musicians will perform live Friday nights from 4 to 7 pm . Come join in the summertime fun !
