5º Ciclo de Palestras em Microbiologia
Every Thursday from September 10 to October 29, the study group in Fermentation (NEFER) promoted the 5º Ciclo de Palestras em Microbiologia at UFLA. The event, which took place online, aimed the academic community, undergraduate and graduate students, and professionals in the field. The objective of the seminars was to promote updating, reflection, and critical scientific development on the current issues of fermentation. The invited speakers included professors and professionals who worked in different fermentation areas. On September 10 and 17, the main topic was Kombucha and the themes of seminars were: “Kombucha: from the kitchen to the industry”, by speaker Fernando Goldensteun Carvalhães; “Kombucha: legal definition and registration establishment”, by Leonardo Alves de Andrade, both owners of Cia dos fermentados. Also, seminars on topics such as probiotics "Development of new probiotic drinks" by Professor Dr. Cíntia Lacerda Ramos (UFJM). Dr Raul Madeira presented "Impacts of the fermentation process on the characteristics of the sour sprinkle". There was also a seminar on “Inoculants for silage: When and which can be use” by speaker Prof. Dr. Carla Ávila. Following “Technological application in cheese dairy cultures” by Prof. Dr. Maximiliano Pinto. Marianna Rabelo presented "Innovation in the beer industry". Finally, on October 29 before closing the event, Dr. Gustavo Magno presented "Role of microorganisms in the treatment of agro-industrial and domestic waste".
