Set on a rural allotment on the fringes of a historic gold
mining township, the owners wanted a light, spacious and
modern home. At the same time, the new building needed
to be a sensitive addition to the nearby historic structures
dating back to the 1800s.
The result is a highly detailed and energy efficient home
that is able to withstand temperature ranges from below
zero in winter to above forty degrees Celsius in summer.
JUDGES’ COMMENTS
The sleek lines of these windows and doors perfectly
complement the overall design of this house. It is a
wonderful example of how to showcase openness and
capture views while maximising comfort in the harsh
environmental climate of the Albury-Wodonga region.
