Winner AISF Best Use Of powder coating residential Decorative Imaging Denham Court, New South Wales. PTP Carpentry utilised DecoWood aluminium columns in a vertical orientation at the front entrance and clad the adjacent wall with a special two piece DecoWood slat, resulting in no visible fixing. The powder coated architectural features were continued on the window shades and the striking cantilevered pergola feature adjacent to the swimming pool. It was the light weight and strength of aluminium made such a design possible. The challenges presented by the design required the use of special techniques during the powder coat process for the essential accessories such as end caps, small profiles and flashings. The project utilises DecoWood Western Red Cedar, DecoWood lronbark and DecoWood Teak powder coats and fully complies with the Qualicoat Class 2 “Super Durable” requirements. JUDGES’ COMMENTS The judges appreciated the way in which the timber- look powder coating was used to enhance the architectural features of this residence.
