Nimbus Golden Lighting Exhibit Milano , Italy
AAF Evershield ® anodising was the finish of choice for McDermott Baxter Architects for part of their exhibition in Milan .
As part of Milan Design Week 2015 , the architects exhibited their new Nimbus Collection of suspended lights at Ventura Lambrate .
Ventura Lambrate is a fully curated external exhibition in the industrial northern edge of Milan – it has become well known for showcasing experimental and cutting edge work .
Inspired by the dramatic storm clouds seen so frequently in Sydney , each Nimbus features a suspended pendant collection featuring an array of 25 individually addressable LEDs embedded into the structure .
Using LED technology , the Nimbus can be programmed to create dramatic lighting effects such as rippling storms , sunrise and sunset clouds .
Each suspended light fitting is a light weight construction made of interlocking pieces which can be assembled and flat packed for transportation .
JUDGES ’ COMMENTS
The consistency of the anodising on the perforated metal demonstrates anodising at its best .
