Nimbus Golden Lighting Exhibit Milano, Italy
AAF Evershield ® anodising was the finish of choice for McDermott Baxter Architects for part of their exhibition in Milan.
As part of Milan Design Week 2015, the architects exhibited their new Nimbus Collection of suspended lights at Ventura Lambrate.
Ventura Lambrate is a fully curated external exhibition in the industrial northern edge of Milan – it has become well known for showcasing experimental and cutting edge work.
Inspired by the dramatic storm clouds seen so frequently in Sydney, each Nimbus features a suspended pendant collection featuring an array of 25 individually addressable LEDs embedded into the structure.
Using LED technology, the Nimbus can be programmed to create dramatic lighting effects such as rippling storms, sunrise and sunset clouds.
Each suspended light fitting is a light weight construction made of interlocking pieces which can be assembled and flat packed for transportation.
JUDGES’ COMMENTS
The consistency of the anodising on the perforated metal demonstrates anodising at its best.
