The role of a media planner is diverse, fast-paced and comes with a huge deal of pressure. You need good communication skills and commercial flair if you want to succeed in this business. As a media planner you work within the advertsing agencies or media planning and buying agencies with the aim of maximising the inpact of advertising campaigns. You will do this via a multitude of different media p platforms. People in this job ro rrole tend to work with the p press, television, radio, new m media (internet and mobile a apps.) a and advertising strategy. Also, t they work on several projects at the same time, usually for more than one client. Furthermore, they have to make and maintain good contact and relationships with media owners such as newspapers,magazines and websites, proofread advertisement content before release and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns to inform future ones. They also have to present proposals that include cost schedules to various clients. They do all of this and a lot more.

When in this job role, it is usual to work around 40 hours a week however, it isnt just the usual 9-

5 job as you'll be

required to work

flexible hours.

You will also be

working extra

hours to meet

clients deadlines.

Skills you need to

show include

commercial flair, capacity to work under pressure and strong analytical and organistational skills. This area of work is ope to all graducates and those with a HND. Usual salary is around 25,000 to 45,0000 for a planner with good experience.
