A Social Media Assistants role is to support the Brand Manager in the development and delivery of the digital marketing strategy. In particular monitoring and managing social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Youtube, Pintrest and Instagram. As well as regularly updating the company blog.

A typical day could include duties such as; working with colleagues nnd agencies to help plan and impliment online marketing campaigns that drive engagement, traffic and bookings across social media, search engine optimisation and PR. As well as this you may be sourcing and producing engaging content to ensure the blog and social media channels are up to date, relevant and interesting. Another duty would be to drive and manage social media campaigns from content creation to measurement of campaign success. Furthermore, you will also find yourself proof reading content such as social media posts, blog articles and press releases. You will also help to increase conversion rates and RIO with regard to the above digital marketing channels.

However, to be able to get this job some experience and skills are required. Such as having a passion for all things social, having exceptional written skills and a ken eye for detail, experience of travel or the travel industry, experience with photoshop or any other similar programme and experience with copy writing and proof reading.

The qualifications required are a degree level and the pay starts from £16,000 and can go up to £25,000 depending on experience.
