EU-JAMRAI Antibiotic
Resistance Symbol
Contest Opens
People are already
dying from antibiotic-
resistance infections,
and as more antibiotics
stop working more
lives will be put in
danger.
To make a public impact,
the European Union Joint
Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections (EU-JAMRAI)
is running a contest to find a symbol the represents the global threat of antibiotic
resistance. Any individual can enter and we encourage you to do so!
’This contest is not about creating another logo. We are looking for something tangible
that anyone can make at home and EVERYONE, ANYWHERE, CAN WEAR; like the AIDS
ribbon.’ annouced EU-JAMRAI, as the contest opened on 18 November during European
Antibiotic Awareness Day. The contest hashtag is: #AntibioticResistanceSymbol
