My Name is Angelique, and like most girls, growing up all I ever wanted was the fairytale. But as it turns out, God intended for my story to have a lot more turns and twists than your average happily ever after. Even tho my entire life I was known as the “Funny Fat Friend” I never struggled with self confidence. But it wasn’t until I was 18 and started my relationship with Christ that I truly knew what my worth was. Growing up in a house full of only boys, it was very unexpected that I ended up working in the beauty industry for 8+ years, leaving it in 2011 to try and start a family. Seven babies later thru the help of fertility and yet I’ve never had anyone call me mama. For the past year I have been working on my chil- dren’s book series and strived to spread con- fidence, self worth and body positivity across my social media platforms. I’ve danced on clouds, battled fire breathing dragons, defeated evil kings and queens, and traveled to what seems like the ends of the earth to find my prince charming. Im learning my fairytale is far from what is read in books and will not finish with “And she lived happily ever after.” Instead, it reads more like Romans chapter 12 will end with something more along the lines of “ She was broken to be renewed.” From weight preoccupa- tion as a child to bullying, emotional abuse, a 5 year near-fatal battle with An- orexia Nervosa and self-es- teem at rock bottom... when it comes to tumultuous body image, Anastasia Amour has been the re, done that and bought the t-shirt (it said “I spent all my life hating my body and I’ll I got was this lousy t-shirt”). Having overcome her demons and filled with the desire to help women everywhere learn to find self-love too, today Anastasia is a Self-Love Coach dedicating her life to making sure that women everywhere have access to the tools, information and resources that they need to make peace with their bodies. Her advice is honest, vulnerable and raw; appealing to women from all walks of life - from those struggling with eating disorders to yo-yo dieters to those who just seek to feel a little more comfortable in their own skin. Drawing on her extensive knowl- edge (both personal and professional) in the fields of body image and psychol- ogy, Anastasia encourages women to embrace Fearless Body Confidence; empow- ering them with the knowl- edge they need to pursue a lifelong healthy relationship with themselves - mind, body and soul.
