TO AVOID IF YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

By Courage Molina
I ’ m not sure how many goals you ’ ve set for the year , but if you ’ re like most you ’ ve probably set 10 or more . That ’ s great ! You want your goals to be challenging and you want them to take your life to the next level . The problem , however , is that we usually try to attack all 10 goals on January 1st . Instead of making a few changes we are completely uprooting every single bad habit we ’ ve ever had for the majority of our life . It just becomes overwhelming . So how do you respond ? You quit . You set goals for almost every area of your life from health & wellness to relationships to finance . You decide this is the year
you will grow your business and spend more time at home . You spread yourself too thin . Now you feel like a failure .
You think the reason you failed is because you ’ re not worthy of the goals , or you aren ’ t awesome enough . It ’ s just not true though .
YOU ARE AWE- SOME !
The reason it ’ s not working for you is because you ’ re trying to do EVERYTHING . I read this quote which I love that says , “ You can do anything but you can ’ t do everything .”. I think it really drives home the fact that you have to prioritize and have to make decisions . You have to
make a few choices . You have to eliminate a few things . Do you really want to accomplish all 10 goals ? Is it imperative that you begin working on all 10 goals right now ?
Consider this , maybe there are a few you can start on in the third quarter of the year or even the fourth quarter . It does not have to be a complete overhaul of your entire life .
If your goal is to cut spending by 90 % for the year , maybe you could cut it by 25 % the first quarter and increase the percentage each quarter .
Comparison is an
absolute assassin when it comes to achieving your goals . The keys to success are no match for comparison . You need confidence to accomplish the goals you ’ ve set . When you compare your progress to others , it can lead to a lack of confidence if someone else is progressing faster than you .
You need courage to achieve your goals . Courage requires you to focus on the power within you . You will not courageously pursue and address obstacles if you are too busy checking out what the next person is doing . Comparison can also lead to complacency . We notice the people around us are doing about as well as we are
