Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020 An EHS Student Special Feature Publication Come Back by Kiana Williams Before I was filled with laughter Joy, sadness, but most of all Everything seemed brighter Not long ago I had feet walking All over me, some small others big Not all of them led to the same place I had art stuck to me, but times have Changed I have become cold and dark And there is no longer a spark Why did we part so soon? In the morning I would hold the ones that were tired The ones who need a shoulder to cry on The ones standing with their friends I kept you safe I wanted you to express yourself But then you just left Why did you leave me? What did I do wrong? When will I see you again? Will I ever feel whole again? Come back I can’t wait to see so many beautiful faces The smell of food lingering in the air The wet squeaky noise shoes made after it rained The puffy clouds of perfume The mouths that were moving, I never seemed to Understand what they were talking about But most of all I can’t wait to be filled with joy
