Feeling the Sunshine, Spring 2020
An EHS Student Special Feature Publication
A poem by Annamarie Lastrina
The sun has a way to cure
It makes us at peace.
Sunshine has the power to heal.
When we need to relax,
Close our eyes,
And lie down
The sun is there for us.
When we have sunshine
We have peace.
Does the snow have power to heal?
Does snow feel good on out skin?
The answer is simply no.
The sun is the only one!
A poem by Morgan Ludwick
I looked up into the sky of blue
I wonder if it looked back at me too
My toes soaked in the warm sand
With a surfboard in my right hand
I dove into the shimmering sea
The sun streamed down on me
the waves were strong and rough
but I was brave and tough
I got on my board and began to ride
It filled me up with a sense of pride
I kept sturdy and stood my ground
The waves crashing was a beautiful sound
I made it all the way to shore
I heard the crowd begin to roar
A smile grew across my face
I knew the ocean is my place
