Feedback Magazine 3 - Summer 2013 | Page 2

Social media shout out! #Champschat—make sure you use it! A day in the life of.. Clare tomkins Why should you get Linked In?? So there’s a new social media site in town. If you haven't heard of Linkedin yet, you need to get involved. Linked in is a bit different from facebook and twitter. It is a professional networking website whereby you should really only add people you have met before. Create a profile, upload your work experience, a picture and start networking. The site is great for looking for placement years or graduate schemes. You can add the people you come into contact with on your search and create a good impression. Plus you never know when you might come into contact with them again in the future. On your page, people can endorse you too for certain skills, e.g. team work or time management. The site also lets you search for jobs and join groups. Champions Life Academy has a page on there, join our group! Hi, I’m Clare and I work in the Champions head office on Brick Lane in London. As the new placement student, my role is Brand and Recruitment Co-ordinator. At the moment I have a few things I am working on. I produce this feedback magazine, I am looking into venues for your award ceremony (exciting), I help Rob with some of the video content he produces, this week I am recruiting for sales school three and I also keep an eye on all of you guys on social media. Every monday morning I look forward to seeing what you have been up to over the weekend. Like everyone on the program, I have had to adjust to the longer working hours, it's a lot different from being a student but time goes pretty quickly in the office! Especially when the weather is this nice and we have the decking outside. I hope the fundraising is going well and I look forward to seeing you all at the awards ceremony. PS. Loving the teams who send me their content on a Saturday! You are my favourites.
