Our learners are always eager and ready for a stimulating experiment using items that they are familiar with. Our STEM activities this month encourage our learners to make educated guesses, or hypotheses, about items they very likely have around their homes. We will use pennies, seasonal candies and pantry staples to create scientific experiences. Stay tuned for some sensational experiments.

This month, our learners focused on winter happenings, animal habitats, and our ever-changing climates. We strengthened our fine motor skills and eye hand coordination by creating an assortment of snowflakes using an array of medium like coffee filters, jumbo straws, and cardboard. We also manufactured upcycled bird feeders for our playgrounds. Our older learners worked together to melt icy, winter wonderlands using pipettes, warm water, and our combined brainpower. Next month, our learners will focus on rainbows and density and how they can be easily demonstrated.
