National Oil will benefit from Hyrax Oil’s over 27 years global
expertise in product development and necessary international
product specifications including Original Equipment Manufacturer
(OEM) approvals. Hyrax Oil in return will offer marketing, training
and technical support to compliment the efforts of National Oil.
Our Chief Executive Officer Ms. MaryJane Mwangi described the
partnership as ground breaking for the Corporation as it will ensure
steady supply of quality lubricants in line with the Corporation’s
Strategic Plan objective of growing market share.

State Department for Petroleum Upgraded to a Fully
Fledged Ministry
26th January 2018 was a historic day for the petroleum sector in
Kenya. President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the elevation of the
State Department for Petroleum into a fully-fledged Ministry
merging it with the State Department of Mining to form the
Ministry of Petroleum and Mining.
Hon. John Munyes was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for the
newly set-up Ministry and the principle secretary in the former
State Department for Petroleum Mr. Andrew Kamau will now serve
as a Principle Secretary for the newly formed Ministry. National
Oil will now fall under the jurisdiction of this newly formed
Ministry.
We expect this move will further buttress the Corporation in our
efforts to be the go to authority on oil and gas matters in Kenya.
