BetterLife members pursuing higher education in the upcoming 2026 / 27 school year are invited to apply for one of our 61 National Member Scholarships. Returning adult students( enrolled full time), undergraduate degree students, graduate degree students, associate degree students, and students from accredited trade and technical schools earning certificates are all encouraged to apply. Recipients of other BetterLife scholarships— member group, district, or state— are eligible for these BetterLife National Member Scholarships *.
* The applicant must be a BetterLife policyholder.

Meet BetterLife Scholarship Recipient Emma Bilka
We are excited to introduce you to a recent recipient of two $ 1,000 BetterLife Scholarships, Emma Bilka. Emma is a sophomore at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, where she is studying Agricultural Education.
Emma and her family are members of the BetterLife group in Comstock, NE, and attend gatherings at
Lodge Slavin 112, where her grandfather, Richard Bilka, is president. This past November, Emma received the American FFA Degree from the Future Farmers of America( FFA) at the 98th annual convention in Indianapolis, IN. This is the highest degree the National FFA organization awards to a member. To earn it, members must meet rigorous requirements, including previous FFA degrees, academic achievement, outstanding leadership and community service, as well as accomplishments from their supervised agricultural experience( SAE) program. Way to go, Emma! We can’ t wait to hear more about your achievements in the future.
