Career & Technical Education Excellence at Jersey Shore
Jersey Shore Area High School will celebrate National Career and Technical Education ( CTE ) Month by recognizing and celebrating the CTE programs that exist within the Jersey Shore Area School District ! The district proudly offers CTE programs that prepare students for in-demand careers in the following areas : Automotive Technology ; Business , Computer , & Information Technology ; Computer Systems Networking ; Construction & Building Maintenance ; Culinary Arts ; Digital Communications Technology ; Early Childhood Education ; Health & Medical Assisting ; and Precision Machining Technology .
The purpose of the CTE programs is to prepare students for career and college success through handson training , as well as project and work-based learning . Jersey Shore is proud to have over 150 students enrolled in its CTE programs in Grades 11-12 . These students graduate better prepared to enter the competitive workforce , enroll in colleges , universities , and technical training programs upon graduation , or pursue military training .
As part of Jersey Shore ’ s CTE Month Celebration in February , high school students will attend a Career and Education Fair , host 8th Grade Tours , and compete in district , regional , and state-level FBLA and SkillsUSA competitions throughout the spring . The community is thrilled to recognize excellence in business education with 21 FBLA members advancing to state-level competitions by placing in the Top 6 at Regionals !
