Looking at an exciting 2025 schedule
Charbonneau Arts Association board and committee members are gearing up for an exciting 2025 schedule , after a most successful 2024 .
MCLAIN We were able to raise a record amount for our grants to the art programs at Canby and Wilsonville High Schools and to start the year with a healthy reserve to kick-start our planning for 2025 .
Grant awarded to Wilsonville High School : We ended the year with a fun event at Wilsonville High School , where Cathi McLain presented a $ 10,000 check to the art teachers during their Dec . 20 pep rally . It was the first time we ’ ve made the giant check presentation during a school assembly , and our board members in attendance enjoyed the fun of gathering in a high school gym with enthusiastic students and teachers . The art department also announced the winners from the student gallery at our festival . We will make a similar presentation to the Canby High School Art Department during an assembly at the school on Feb . 3 . Both schools will apply the funds to the purchase of new kilns and pottery equipment , display panels and art supplies that would otherwise be outside their regular budgets .
The CAA board and committees are gearing up for a very full schedule
of events for 2025 . We will host the 41st Festival of the Arts , renamed Wilsonville Festival of the Arts @ Charbonneau , Oct . 10-12 . And there are some new projects in the works , including a new Wilsonville Music Festival @ Charbonneau ( led by Alice Galloway ), and a mural project to brighten the new retaining wall adjacent to the Havens apartments and the refurbished marina . Teachers and students from Canby and Wilsonville High Schools will work with Charbonneau artists to create the CCC-sponsored project .
Music Stage Series : The organizing committee , led by Alice Galloway , has scheduled a great lineup of fundraising concerts in 2025 . Save the dates for 2025 : April 27 — VoxaNova Trio plays light jazz and Bossa Nova emphasizing beautiful melodies , lush harmonies , exotic rhythms and original arrangements . April 27 , 2025 , at Charbonneau .
May 18 — “ Truckin ’ in Nashville ” a special narrated audio-visual review of all the best artists in country western music in the ‘ 60s and ‘ 70s .
July 25-26 – Wilsonville Music Festival @ Charbonneau . Blues from the best local musicians .
Sept . 28 — Stephanie Schneidermann is hands down one of the most diverse artists in the Pacific Northwest and creates sonic explorations of folk , americana , trip hop and pop .
Oct . 10-12 — Wilsonville Festival of the Arts @ Charbonneau . We are looking forward to another successful event in 2025 . Most artists and artisans have said they plan to return this year , and we have a wonderful group of volunteers ready to begin planning the event .

Transitions : During the January meeting , the CAA Board elected Cathi McLain president , John McLain as secretary-treasurer and Lindy Anderson as co-treasurer . Charbonneau resident Mary Fieweger was also welcomed to the CAA board during the meeting . Mary promises to focus on sponsorships to help to fund our major events . We are thrilled to have Mary ’ s enthusiasm and fundraising skills as part of our CAA board .
We are looking to add more people to our board , as well as to the organizing committees that plan the Arts Festival , the Music Stage Series and a new music festival . If you have experience that
can be applied to the support for the arts in Charbonneau , please contact Cathi McLain ( contact information is in the directory ). You don ’ t have to be an artist , just someone with skills and enthusiasm . We especially need people with computer skills . Even if you don ’ t want to join the board , there are tasks and projects that might benefit from your skills .
Year-end donation campaign : Our annual year-end fundraising campaign , where donations were matched with funds from generous members of the CAA board , was a success , reaching over $ 4,000 . Thank you to all who donated . A special thanks to Eric Hoem , who has spearheaded this campaign each year . He will be missed on the board , but we hope he will continue to provide his expertise and generosity of spirit moving forward .
