11 th ANNUAL ASCE SKI & BOARD DAY !
ASCE hosted the 11 th annual ski & board day at Loon Mountain Resort on January 31 st , the best way to combine networking , PDHs , and riding ! The day started with a breakfast and networking in a private lodge . Once the gear was on , everyone headed to the slopes . The conditions were great and fellow ASCE members were seen all over the mountain .
After a morning session on the slopes , Scott Shillieto , P . E . of McFarland Johnson provided the lunchtime presentation on eMobility . Scott discussed the fundamental understanding of what eMobility is , why it is important to transition from internal combustion vehicles to EV ’ s , what type of infrastructure is required to support EV ’ s , and how this infrastructure influences the adaptation of EV ’ s . We also learned what Advanced Air Mobility ( AAM ) is , what the current state of AAM adaptation is , the future of AAM , and what type of infrastructure is required to support AAM . There was also discussion on some of the impacts eMobility and AAM will have on the state ’ s transportation system , and the potential electrical demand required to support this adaptation .
In the afternoon , it was time for more slope time and Après ski ! The conditions held up and the lift lines stayed short throughout the day .
Thank you to our sponsors Doucet Survey , Horizons , GZA , and R . W . Gillespie !
A wonderful day with colleagues and friends .
