You ’ ve had your suspension dialed in from the Beta factory and you ’ ve been testing out some different gearing ( currently running a 13 / 50 for the Extreme enduro set-up and 14 / 49 for the normal enduro setup ). What ’ s next on the list to get dialed in ?
I ’ m just going to play about with stuff in general because I need to get hours on the bike . Since the first of January , I ’ ve only actually got about 10 hours in riding on the bike , about an hour-a-day , which isn ’ t bad . But obviously , I ’ m going to go out to races like Romaniacs , where you ’ re doing eight hours in a day , So I just need to get time in and see what changes with the bike through the day . Every bike has little problems , so you need to try and find out what they ’ re going to be so when it comes to the races , I ’ ve already gone through everything , so I know what I need to do .
I ’ m super happy with the feeling of the bike , but the only problem is I haven ’ t really had any problems , if you know what I mean . So I don ’ t know what can go wrong with them .
” On the Pegs ” has both an enduro and a trials focus . With you having a successful background in trials competitions earlier in you career , and with Beta having a strong lineup of trials motorcycles , are we going to see you back in the trials scene or cross-training on a trials bike ?

Definitely ! I ’ ve always rode trials bikes the last few years , but obviously with Beta having a trials bike , it means I can put everything up [ on social media ]. Basically , the way hard enduro is going right now , trials is a massive part of it , and my plan is to get as much out there and showcase what we do on a daily basis : getting everything sorted for racing , how we do our training and cross-training , etc .
Do you have an idea of which events you ’ d like to race in 2021 ?
Basically , I just want to race as much as possible . I was trying to get over [ to the United States ] for the King of Motos , but it ’ s looking quite difficult getting there because you ’ ve got to go to Mexico for 12 days before . Not that that ’ s an issue , but I didn ’ t want to waste too much time ; I wanted to learn more about the bike and keep riding , but if I can , I will come over .
If I can race all the rounds of the enduro series , I will . I ’ ve spoken to Tim Pilg from Beta USA and he ’ s super happy to get me over , so we ’ re arranging a deal . I ’ ve not really had the opportunity to race in the US , and this is a great opportunity . I also want to do the EnduroCross .
