TORCS WILD HARE WEEKEND

It was Thursday , New Year ’ s Eve 2020 , when all the TORCS riders were looking out their windows at home and seeing a weekend of fun disappear before their eyes . Over 3.5 inches of water smothered the grounds in Cedar Creek , Texas , at the Powell Ranch . However , Mother Nature had a surprise for everyone on New Year ’ s Day . She had opened up her bright sky with large rays of sunshine and strong winds . “ We got this ya ’ ll ,” Gil and Jackie Ramos posted on social media . “ Come on down to the track .” So on that Friday afternoon , campers started rolling in .
Saturday was open practice . Dozens of little boys and girls clumped together to hit the separate kids track . They passed each other like race cars , railing the hills and helping each other up after pinballing off the tight trees . Only three quarters of the main race track was opened up as groups of friends hit the trails together . They stopped along the way to ponder lines in the skinny elms , yell goofy remarks at each other while crossing the two-lane bridge through a creek , and laugh at one another on the ground from silly falls . It was a day of pure fun getting to ride as friends .
