THE LADY OF HURLING BAY By : Constance Hussey

The Plot : Captain Jasper Carlisle
A man couldn ’ t ask for a better life than the freedom to sail where the winds and trade took him , with a fine ship under his feet , a lively crew , and the occasional mission for the British government to add some spice . Settling down on land with a wife and family was never in his plans — until a chance encounter with a beautiful lady and a stroke of ill-fated tragedy turns his well-ordered life inside out , forcing him to make a choice that will forever change his future . Lady Alinor
As much a force of nature as the storm that drove his battered ship into her hidden bay , the bold captain captured her heart the moment they met . Yet she was of the land and he the sea , a division he believed an impossible barrier to permanence .
Alinor had a different conclusion in mind .
An Excerpt
Carlisle swung around . A red-cloaked woman stood at the other end of the dock , her gaze steady as she surveyed them . Him , Carlisle thought , examining him . Shocked by a wild impulse to touch her , he took a step back , his heart thundering . Leisurely she raised her hands to push back her hood , revealing honeygold hair that glittered in the sun . Her eyes , he had to see her eyes , and now he did walk forward , gripped by some unfathomable force he didn ’ t recognize .
He halted a few feet away , close enough that she had to look up to meet his gaze . Blue , her eyes , as clear as the sky on a cloudless day . Slowly , he lifted a hand to her cheek , the world around them fading .
“ Are you a witch ?” he murmured , staring into her eyes . He brushed her cheekbone with his fingers and felt the quiver running under her skin .

Biography :
The moment Constance stepped into a library in her first week of school it was love at first sight . More books than she ever imagined , and she wanted to read every one . The libraries have grown larger over the years , and she no longer imagines it possible to read every book she sees , but the fascination with the stories hidden within those books has never faded . With a head full of romance , history , and adventure , it was only natural that she conjure up her own characters and set them venturing forth into her imaginary worlds . A serious interest in 19th century English history , in particular the Napoleonic Wars , led her to set her historical romances in the Regency era .
