Most of the items I design and produce myself , and some items I curate from our suppliers — it ’ s a mix of both .
I STARTED OFFERING THE SUBSCRIPTION ON CRATEJOY , which is a platform for subscription businesses ; they bill the customers monthly and they already have good traffic on their website from people interested in purchasing subscriptions . After designing and receiving the boxes and the first kit , I started advertising ( only organically ) to our followers and email list . We launched after 3 weeks of intense advertising on social media , and we sold out in the first month — 50 subscribers right off the bat . After that , we started doing paid advertising and the number of subscribers keeps growing every month .
The subscription business is a whole different beast ; you HAVE to follow deadlines seriously in order to get everything in house on time for shipment , and when you also run a website and you are the one designing , producing , and shipping , it ’ s not that easy . I ’ m also selling on Amazon as well because I want to have as many streams of income as I can .
What makes me happy about the subscription business is the community we built . We have a Facebook group where subscribers can meet each other , post their planners , exchange items , and see sneak peeks of our new boxes . I ’ m also constantly asking
