Puma to open Four to
Five More Experience
Centres in the Next 12 to
18 Months
Sportswear brand Puma plans to open four to
five more experience centre stores in India in
the coming 12 to 18 months, and focus on its
children’s wear offerings.
Cities including New Delhi, Mumbai,
Hyderabad, and Pune are soon expected to
launch Puma experience centre stores, the
brand’s India managing director, Abhishek
Ganguly, told India Retailing.
The brand recently opened its largest flagship
experience centre store in India in Bengaluru’s
Indiranagar district. This was Puma’s second
experience centre store after opening its first in
New York.
The brand also aims to increase its focus on
children’s wear, a fast growing product category
in India. Children’s wear currently represents 7%
of Puma India’s total revenue. The brand has
reported 40% growth in winter sales in the north
of India.

Established in 1998, Neva has become an
indisputable market leader with its innovative and
quality products. The company operates in six
categories including thermal wear, active wear,
sweaters, jackets, innerwear and lingerie for
men, women and kids. Brands operated by the
company include Neva Mod quilt, Neva Esancia,
Neva Velveti, Neva Mod wool, Neva Sofit, Neva
Stile, Live free, Neva Maxx, Feona Jersey, Neva
Miss and Neva Mint.
For cold mountainous regions like Jammu and
Kashmir and Ladakh, where winters are at their
peak, Neva offers the Glacia range of thermal
wear that can also be worn as nightwear in other
areas. For the wholesale market, the company
offers its Quiltex range.
Neva recently tied up with Reliance to market
apparel made from the company’s R|Elan Kooltex
range of fabrics. “This fabric absorbs sweat and
is embedded in the yarn which aids washing,”
notes Niti Jain, director, Neva. The brand also
markets Reliance’s Feel Fresh range of fabrics
“which keeps the garment fresh and odour-free.”
In future, Neva aims to be a major thermal and
summer wear brand.
Donear NXG Makes a Fashionable Impression with New Yarns
and Fabrics
Menswear brand Donear NXG’s latest collection makes a fashionable impression through the use of fancy yarns
for developing space-dyed, mélange, grindle and linen-esque fabrics. Rahul Agarwal, director, Donear NXG, says,
“We have also used recycled fibers for making fabrics for formal trousers. The shirts in this collection are made from
stretch fabrics.”
Consumers are shifting from formal to semi-formal and semi-casual shirts, with the start-up culture leading to this
shift. Brands, too, are making a conscious effort to create new product lines. “Leading players like Madura Garments,
Arvind Lifestyle etc., are introducing new brands. The shirts market has been growing at a compound annual growth rate
(CAGR) of nine per cent since the last five years and is currently estimated to be worth US$5.8 billion,” Agarwal says.
