There was a real sense of peace and love in the building as everyone viewed the featured artwork . Saying that the show is diverse is truly an understatement . I ’ m a lover of pictures and networking and I couldn ’ t take enough pictures and speak to enough people that night . It was so beautiful to be in a space to meet local artists . By the end of the night , I didn ’ t want to leave , they literally had to push me out the doors . AB + L Dallas was a night I won ’ t forget . There is a saying that goes , “ Everything is bigger in Texas .” While the origin of this phrase doesn ’ t matter much , last week at the Dallas installment of AB + L showcase , these words came into fruition .
The event took place at Gilley ’ s Dallas . The entertainment venue was the perfect space to host the show and allowed the art exhibits to come alive .
Paintings and interactive walls snaked around the 26,000 squarefoot room , encouraging the crowd to submurge themselves in a colorful and eclectic world of art .
As usual the drinks flowed effortlessly thanks to Jack Daniel ’ s . The Djs kept the crowd moving with their skills on the turn tables . By 9:30 P . M ., the space in front of the stage transformed into the dance floor . And when you thought the excitement was finally about to wear off , 8Ball & MJG took the stage to perform their classic hits .
The AB + L Dallas show was like going to a big family function , surrounded by old friends and distant cousins . The people truly brought out this sense of southern comfort mixed with southern charm that can only be understood and experienced by those who have called the South home at some point . Something magical lingered in the air that night , indescribale , unexplainable , but real at the same time .
