Understanding habits of
your favorite species are key
to finding productive areas.
From reproduction to feeding habits, each bit of
knowledge aids the angler
in finding fish. Crappie or
sac-au-lait stage in early
spring in depths of six to
eight feet of water before
moving into shallow water
to spawn. In larger bodies
of water like Toledo Bend,
staging depths may be
deeper, but the congregation occurs. This one fact is
a great part of an angler’s
arsenal when searching for
staging crappie.
