mouth of Bayou Lacombe and along the shoreline. Look for reds between Goose Point and Flat
Point on either side of the mouth of Bayou Lacombe. The muddy water is quickly being fil-
tered out but in the meantime remember that its only on the top 6 - 12” anyway, so don’t let it
discourage you! What to use: Savage Gear shrimp in Avocado and Natural, Vudu shrimp in
Natural and Matrix Shad in Lemonhead
You may still find better odds catching bass, sac-au-lait and
catfish further up the bayou in February. The sac-au-lait usually
pitch a tent and stay under the Tammany Trace bridge throughout
the month. Depths vary as the water temperature changes so jig
until you find them and stay around that depth.
Whether you call them marsh bass or green trout, you can call
them right to you this time of YX\
