game. Their physical training also will speed up the learning process
in changing their swing fundamentals. Golfers today are more competitive than ever before, which is why strength training is fundamental for success and is an important factor in the development of the
student.
Dear GGGA Families,
It brings me great pleasure to annouce that this semester is off
to a great start. The coaching staff has witnessed major improvements with all of our students’ personal short-term and
long-term goals. Our students have already excelled in tournament play with 4 student wins and many career lows. As I previously mentioned, we hired three new coaches Matt Fields, Hernan Rey and Skylar Jewell our new mental coach. These three
coaches are a great addition to our team and it is evident that as
our coaching staff grows, the students benifit greatly. We’ve also
added a master club fitter Chuck Sweaney to our team.
Each month we will be sending you an update of our program.
There will be monthly student evaluations during each semester, which will include an evaluation by the mental, Physical and
their full time coach. We want to give you an honest assessment
and update through our new on line program Edufii. The key
to our success is to have the support and involvement of every
family. Keeping you informed of the growth and development
of your child will enable you to support our decisions, knowing
that we always have the best interest of your son or daughter in
mind. The first point of contact is the coach who will give you a
training plan for your son or daughter and tournament schedule for the semester. It is also very important to get to know the
house parent as they are a vital part of academy life.
The technical side of the game is sometimes misunderstood and it
is possible to place too much emphasis in this area. The students all
have different tendencies, which makes golf instruction very individual. We mainly focus on the basic fundamentals, which is the foundation to a consistent and repetitive swing. Students will be provided
with their own personal drills. With the help of video analysis each
student will see how to achieve a more powerful and consistent
swing. Once we approach tournaments the training weeks focus
more on preparation for tournaments, which is the key for their main
development.
My main goal this semester is the procedure with college placement,
Carmina Calle has been doing a fantastic job educating our students
on the process. We are working closely with the school, coaches and
house parents making sure that we are all on the same page moving
forward. If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress,
please do not hesitate to call me or e-mail me at [email protected]
your input and support is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Gary Gilchrist

This academy is built around a training program, so physical
fitness plays an important role in the success of our students.
Now with the support of the National Training Centre and Gavin
Metz our full time fitness trainer. They have developed a program that will improve each players physical limitations which
will help each students make the necessary improvements in
their game. I believe that basic functional movement will increase speed and power. With the right technique training this
