ROYALTY Natali Steffensen 2023-2024 Ms . Horsemanship
Happy New Year everyone !
I cannot believe that my reign as Ms . Horsemanship is already ¼ of the way over ! My how the time has flown by . The court and I have been having an absolute blast these past few months . Between meetings , banquets , and the NFR we have been quite the busy bunch . I was blessed to attend the NFR with my main support team where we shopped until we dropped . Literally- after walking 14.5 miles around Cowboy Christmas and the Strip , it was a struggle to get out of bed the next day .
Speaking of support , I must give a huge shout out to Northwest Saddle Club ( NWSC ) for all their support not only during the queen ’ s contest , but during my reign on the WSCA Court as well . WSCA is a place to build friendships , develop skills , and become part of a family , all of which I have had the absolute joy of experiencing at NWSC . For 2024 I get to develop my skills as the royalty chairperson , show chair , awards committee member , year-end awards committee member , and as a board member .
Outside of WSCA I have been enjoying my time working and spoiling my horses . Heza Nu Wrangler is my go-to competition horse . At almost 27 years young , he has been enjoying his time off by chasing around my 30-year-old mare , Angel . Don ’ t let their age , or winter fluff , fool you though , they are both ready to hit up some shows come May . Although they have both spent majority of their lives as game horses , you may see us at a few pleasures shows as well . It is never too late to develop new skills or to improve on ones you already have .
Where else will you see us ? Well , we have quite a busy month coming up . January is banquet season- Northwest Saddle Club , Scandia Riders Saddle Club , and Wild River Riders Saddle Club all have their banquets in January . On January 27th is St . Paul ’ s King Boreas Grande Day Parade . Our lovely Ms . Congeniality / Ms . Games Courtney Betsch has been hard at work figuring out how we are going to be decorating our float . Stay tuned for photos and more fun as we enter the new year !
