HBO Max , the SVoD service from WarnerMedia , is now available in 61 territories globally after launching in 15 additional European countries , including the Netherlands , Portugal , Hungary , Poland , and Romania .

The platform launched with what the broadcaster describes as an attractive pricing and a promotion offering all customers in Central and Eastern Europe and Portugal more than 30 % off the monthly price for the lifetime of their subscription . In the Netherlands , HBO Max launches with two tiers , both at 50 % off the regular monthly subscription price for the life of the subscription . A monthly subscription to the standard tier ( with HD 1080p , 4K , three concurrent streams , 30 downloads ) is € 3.99 and a monthly subscription to the basic tier ( with HD 720p , one concurrent stream , five downloads ) is € 2.99 .
“ HBO Max is streaming in 21 European countries with Central and Eastern Europe , Portugal and the Netherlands joining the Nordics , Spain and Andorra where we launched the platform last year ,” said Christina Sulebakk , general manager , HBO Max EMEA .

Multichannel programmer Discovery and LG Electronics have confirmed that non-fiction subscription streaming service discovery + is now available on LG Smart TVs in Europe , including LG ’ s line-up of LG OLED TVs and LG QNED MiniLED TVs .
The partnership further expands the reach of discovery + broad portfolio of unscripted stories in Europe , stretching across the UK , Ireland , Italy , Netherlands , Norway , Sweden , Finland and Denmark .
Following a successful launch in the US and Canada , first LG customers in Europe will now have direct access to their favourite real-life discovery + series and exclusive originals across genres including Documentaries , Reality , Paranormal , True crime & Sport . This entails popular global franchises such as Gold Rush , Ghost Adventures , 90 Day Fiancé , and discovery + Originals such as Anni : The Honeymoon Murder , Lady Gucci and Estonia .
LG Smart TV owners can now access discovery + on the TV ’ s webOS platform by opening the discovery + app using their remote or , when available , by saying “ discovery plus ” directly into their LG Magic Remote . discovery + is available in Europe starting at £ 3.99 /€ 4.99 per month for the Entertainment Pass and £ 6.99 /€ 6.99 per month for the Entertainment and Sport Pass . The cost for an annual subscription is respectively £ 39.99 /€ 49.99 and £ 59.99 /€ 69.99 .

Larry Gerbrandt , a long-time
contributor to Euromedia
magazine since its launch in
1999 , and former colleague
of team members who
worked for the title ’ s previous
publisher , Kagan World
Media .
An esteemed industry
observer , Larry was a senior
analyst at Kagan World Media
from 1984 to 2004 ( including
the last three years as COO ) and from 2004 to 2005 was responsible for AlixPartners ’ media and entertainment practice , specialising in valuation , strategic consulting and litigation support .
As senior vice president / general manager , he launched a new division within VNU ’ s Media Measurement and Information
business , Nielsen Analytics , which published research reports and analyses on the economics of emerging technologies as well as the consumer adoption patterns of traditional and new media .
In July 2007 , he founded Media Valuation Partners , specialising in market research , litigation support and valuations in the media &
entertainment sectors .
For a number of years , he wrote a ‘ Letter from America ’ for Euromedia , this becoming US Watch when Advanced Television became the magazine ’ s publisher . His insights and observations were always articulatelyexpressed and eagerlyawaited .
He was a talented photographer , particularly of landscapes , with his work exhibited at his own Rare Light Gallery in San Juan Bautista , CA , and syndicated worldwide .
