Wilsonville residents can look forward to new festivals

A handful of local organizations have big plans for the year thanks to grants from the city .

At the suggestion of the city ’ s Arts , Heritage and Culture Commission , the Wilsonville City Council voted to award more than $ 23,000 in Community Cultural Events and Programs grants to five Wilsonville organizations during a Jan . 4 meeting . The CCEP grant is awarded to local nonprofits to support programming that promotes the arts , culture , history and heritage .

The Charbonneau Arts Association , Siempre La Guitarra , the Wilsonville Choral Arts Society , the Wilsonville Rotary Foundation and WilsonvilleSTAGE each received grants for projects that must be completed by Sept . 1 , 2025 .

A grant for $ 3,500 was awarded to the Charbonneau Arts Association to promote the new Wilsonville Jazz Festival that will be held in Charbonneau this summer . Jazz shows have previously been a component of the Charbonneau Festival of the Arts , which celebrated its 40th anniversary last fall . This year , the performances will stand alone as a separate festival to increase their impact

Themed all-ages bingo is back ! This month , in honor of Valentine ’ s Day , we will indulge in chocolate and listen to our favorite love songs in between games ! “ Muskrat Love ”? “ Love is All You Need ”? Come with suggestions and we will add them to the playlist ! We involve the kids in the raffle , calling bingo and other ways . It ’ s a multigenerational party . We will be giving away more free Mod pizzas , bottles of wine , stuffed animals for the kids , an $ 88 Salt Soak from Soak Box , a $ 50 Charbonneau Salon service coupon and more ! These are great events where we often can have three generations of families present .

COMMUNITY CLUB ! One special Saturday per month in The Card on the community , according to the grant proposal .

Siempre La Guitarra was awarded $ 7,500 to hold the first annual Wilsonville Guitar Festival . The two-day event will feature public concerts and educational events , with both local and international performers playing classical guitar .

The Wilsonville Choral Arts Society received $ 1,000 for its Advertise and Harmonize outreach program . The funds will be used to support advertising for the community choral organization , which caters to both children and adults . According to the grant proposal , the organization ’ s advertising goals are to purchase merchandise and advertising space in the Wilsonville Activity Guide , as well as to hire a graphic design student from Wilsonville High School .

To help fund the longstanding summer concert series , the Wilsonville Rotary Foundation received a $ 7,000 grant .

WilsonvilleSTAGE , a local live theater company , received $ 4,300 to help the organization embark on a branding campaign that aims to remind the community of the troupe ’ s presence in Wilsonville . The funds will be used to update the organization ’ s logo and social media presence , advertise with local businesses and fundraise .

Community Club has moved to ONCE per month . Coffee and tea are always available with potluck treats and snacks as neighbors gather ( kids , grandkids , and friends welcome ), for board games , chess , ping pong , pool , arts and crafts and socializing . Two full large bookshelves of games and supplies are available for use , and some toys for the youngsters . Games for kids and adults alike . By request , we now have Twister , AND more coloring books with princesses ! In February , we will make collages at Community Club . Magazine donations are accepted !

This space is also available for your use on your own time ! Clean up and care of the space is based on the honor system and must be maintained for the access to continue . Do you have a craft to lead ? An activity to run or teach about ? Do you play the piano , or have a band ? Do you have toys , games , or art supplies to donate ?
