Reflecting on 2024, it has been a year of remarkable achievements and strategic advancements for Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX). Compared to 2023, we have made significant progress in strengthening our position as a leading investment destination in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
Throughout the year, MSX strengthened its regional and international presence by participating in key global financial forums, such as the HSBC Conference in London, the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges Conference in Uzbekistan, the AFCM Annual Conference in Qatar, the Capital Market Summit and Meira Annual Conference in the UAE, and The Network Forum in Singapore. These engagements have reinforced our global connectivity and positioned MSX as a pivotal player in the capital markets landscape.
However, 2024 was not without its challenges. Adapting to evolving market dynamics and regulatory advancements required agility and innovation. We tackled these challenges head-on by introducing critical regulatory enhancements such as the approval of short-selling regulations, lending and borrowing guidelines, and the launch of best practices guides for investor relations and governance.
In line with our sustainability commitment, MSX joined the Net Zero Exchange Group, pledging to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. We also strengthened local and international partnerships, signing cooperation agreements with the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, Astana International Exchange, and other key institutions to foster market development.
With multiple successful listings, enhanced liquidity measures, and the establishment of a market maker, we have met our strategic goals for the year. Looking ahead, we remain committed to innovation, sustainability, and growth, ensuring MSX continues to thrive as a dynamic and resilient financial hub.
We look forward to reaching new milestones in 2025.
