The ASE has also launched the Climate-Related Disclosure Guidance, developed in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Ernst & Young (EY), to improve transparency and sustainability. This initiative encourages listed companies to adopt global best practices in climate-related disclosures, enhancing competitiveness and investor confidence. Furthermore, the ASE continued its efforts to enhance sustainability, disclosure, and transparency in the market, 100% of the listed companies in the ASE20 index provided sustainability reports for the year 2023.
As recognition of the ASE's efforts in the field of sustainability, it was selected to chair the advisory committee of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (UN SSE) Initiative on SMEs and Sustainability. This committee aims to guide financial markets and SMEs in implementing ESG practices and enhancing sustainability, in addition to drafting new guidance for stock exchanges and SMEs to enhance their sustainability, which will enhance the role of the stock exchanges in supporting SMEs in their sustainability journey.
To promote investment awareness, the ASE has developed educational materials and partnered with national universities to prepare students for the job market. The ASE issued the "Investment Guide in the Amman Stock Exchange." The exchange has also updated its infrastructure, improving trading systems and cybersecurity, adhering to ISO27001 standards.
Project of the year: The ASE signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) to join "Tabadul" Hub.
Event of the year: The ASE participated in the activities of the Future of Finance Forum, within the activities of the 13th session of the “AIM” Investment Summit, which was held in Abu Dhabi/United Arab Emirates on May 7-9, 2024.
Change of the year: Excellence and uniqueness in sustainability.
