Ms. Alina Aldambergen Message
Acting Chairwoman of FEAS | Chairwoman of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC
Remarks
I would like to welcome you to read our annual report – FEAS Yearbook for 2022.
In 2022 in the face of global challenges, FEAS, despite the market volatility, rising inflation and other factors caused by the instability of the geopolitical situation in the world, successfully implemented all the tasks set for the federation. The year 2022 can be remembered as the year when FEAS continued to expand its reach and impact, attracted new members, launched innovative projects, and organized high-profile events that brought together key players of the capital market industry. It has been a year of resilience, adaptation and progress, and I am proud to be a part of such a dynamic and sustainable organization. One of our biggest accomplishments this year was the addition of six new members to the FEAS family. We welcome them and look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals of promoting cooperation, development, collaboration, and the promotion of the capital markets in the region.
FEAS also launched the Borsa City comic book, a unique and engaging educational tool that promotes financial literacy and awareness among young people. We were thrilled to see it being translated into 7 languages (English, Kazakh, Arabic, Armenian, Persian, Greek and Russian), which allowed us to spread financial education even further across the region.
In addition, FEAS successfully hosted the second Capital Market Talks event in Cairo, Egypt, where members and non-members, key players of the capital market industry from Asia and Europe, came together to discuss experiences, challenges, and new opportunities for the development of our industry. We also held FEAS 9th Onsite Training in Almaty, Kazakhstan, hosted by Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, which provided our members with timely and relevant training opportunities. In 2022 we continued to conduct online webinars and roundtable discussions, such as Crowdfunding workshop with Zagreb Stock Exchange, Retail investors roundtable discussion with ARIR and Regulatory sandbox with Iranian Financial Center. These online events provided a platform for knowledge sharing and networking among our members. We also continued our FEAS Talks featuring our members and announced Champions League Award 2022 Winners among FEAS members’ markets participants.
This year FEAS broadened its regional network by signing Memorandum of Understanding with the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA). Together with MEIRA we already hosted online workshop on IR theme. FEAS also started a new cooperation with the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative and organized joint TCFD certified webinars for the FEAS members and all interested market participants.
In 2022 the FEAS members completed the works of Task Forces groups, issued the reports covering such topics as Crowdfunding, Regulatory Sandbox, Fixed Income and others, implemented studies on Tax Treatment & Incentives in Capital Markets. We also published several informative reports and studies, including Business Effectiveness Report, newsletters and factsheets, which were well-received by the members of the federation.
Looking ahead, we are excited to build on our achievements and continue to work towards our vision of a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable capital market ecosystem in the Euro-Asian region. We are grateful for the support and dedication of our members, partners, and stakeholders, and FEAS remain committed to serving their needs and interests to the best of its abilities.
I wish all members and affiliates, as well as dear readers success in 2023.
