Analysts expect the Romanian economy to
accelerate in the mid-run on the back of the fixed
investments’ re-launch, supported by lowest ever
financing costs, high exports, the good momentum
of private consumption and higher public
investments. The decline of the financing costs
is expected to continue, as Romania converges
towards the Euro Area and the European Banking
Union standards. At the same time, the banking
sector is stabilizing, as the non-performing loans
ratio declined to 15.3% in October 2014 (after the
National Bank of Romania (NBR) urged the banks to
write-off their bad assets), and the loans/deposits
ratio decreased below 1.
