The decline of the financing costs is expected to continue, as Romania converges towards the Euro Area and the European Banking Union standards. At the same time, the banking sector is stabilizing, as the non-performing loans ratio declined to 15.3% in October 2014 (after the National Bank of Romania (NBR) urged the banks to write-off their bad assets), and the loans/deposits ratio decreased below 1.
