The first, Stephen Volk, is a writer for
both small and big screen. Last year saw
the release of The Awakening. He is also
the creator of the TV series Afterlife,
but it is perhaps for his work on the
revolutionary BBCtv drama Ghostwatch,
starring Michael Parkinson, Mike Smith
and Sarah Greene, for which he is perhaps
best known. We join him to celebrate the
twentieth anniversary of its screening and
the imminent release of his new novella by
Spectral Press.
Also in the spotlight this month is
horror novelist Tom Fletcher – no, he
isn’t the lead singer of McFly in his spare
time. His new novel, The Ravenglass Eye,
is garnering excellent reviews in genre and
mass market press alike, while his previous
books, The Leaping and The Thing On The
Shore have seen him compared to Ramsey
Campbell for his subtle style and eye for
landscape and character.
Also helping us to celebrate this dark
Hallowe’en season is anthologist Stephen
Jones whose follow up his ‘mosaic’ novel,
Zombie Apocalypse has spawned a viral
four minute movie (see last month’s issue
of FEAR for more details of the movie)
and Nicholas Vince, Chattering Cenobite
from the early Hellraiser movies and now
established purveyor of quality short
fiction – his new collection, What Monsters
Do, is now available from Amazon.
If you have a hankering to join the
