Swimming Season Over Story and Photo by Catherine Welliver On September 14th, at approximately 9:30am, the North Amityville Fire Company responded to a truck fire at 177 Allen Boulevard. Upon arrival, the fire wound up being dumped garbage that contained pool chemicals. The scene was directed by Chief Harley [1–7-30] who requested mutual aid in the form of an engine from the East Farmingdale Fire Department to assist with extinguishing the fire. FD Rant News - October 2016 NORTH AMITYVILLE NORTH BABYLON MVA with Entrapment Story and Photos by Joe Cassano The North Babylon Fire Company responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident at Prairie Drive and Deer Park Avenue in the afternoon on September 15th. One vehicle was reported to be overturned with a victim trapped. Upon arrival, entrapment was confirmed by Suffolk Police and the Chief of Department. After evaluation of the vehicle, the decision was made to take the roof. Putting the tools to work, the roof was taken off and the driver was extricated and transported to an area hospital for treatment. Page 21
