Seagate’s 8TB Hard Drive
R
emember the time when you knew someone who had
a 1 terabyte (TB) hard drive and thought that it was
ridiculous? Who’d need all that storage anyway?
Well prepare to get your socks blown off. Seagate has
announced it is now shipping the world’s first 8TB 3.5-inch
hard drives to select enterprise customers. Ok so it’s not
strictly-speaking available to the private individual consumer
just yet, but it surely will be in the not-too-distant future.
In case you needed reminding, 8TB is a lot of space. Know
that 2 hour HD movie sitting on your laptop? Yeah, you
could fit around 1600 of those onto an 8TB drive.
That’s quite the movie collection.
