irst Distribution has made a point of diversifying its
cloud vendor offerings, and is proud to offer a wide
range of cloud services from some of the world’s
top IT companies.
Here’s a quick look at some of the other players in
this sector.
Microsoft is the next closest competitor to AWS in terms of
market share. Its Azure platform provides both PaaS and
IaaS services and supports many different programming
languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoft-specific and third-party software and systems.
Azure recently expanded to include the lower-level infrastructure services which Amazon had to itself for a long
time, with positive results. Microsoft’s Satya Nadella led
Azure through this transition, and was awarded the CEO
position in 2014 partly because of his success. He has now
made Azure a top priority, hyping up how tightly it integrates
with the Windows Server and other enterprise
