FCS Financial: One Hundred Years July 2016 | Page 84
On October 23, 2001, the joint board of directors met and
selected a new headquarters location and developed a Joint
Management Agreement that went into effect in November of 2001.
A new name, Farm Credit Services of Missouri, was chosen for the
entity and when disclosure statements and voting ballots were mailed
to stockholders in early May 2002, they were assured that plans were
being developed to implement the merger. Once key market segments
were identified and defined, strategies would then be developed to
support those segments.
More than three hundred people attended FCS of Missouri’s
open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new general
headquarters building at 1934 East Miller Street in Jefferson City on
March 20, 2002, touring the 24,000-square-foot building intended to
house about sixty employees. Centrally located and close to legislative
activity, it was an obvious choice for a headquarters. Having secured
stockholder and regulator approval, the merger became effective on
July 1, 2002, and the first annual meeting of Farm Credit Services of
Missouri was held on August 22.
On March 20, 2002, FCS Financial hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting of their
new central office located in Jefferson City. Meredith Kapp (left) and Jim Zerr (right)
cut the ribbon.
