With farmers borrowing larger sums of money, measures were
taken to minimize both their risk and the association’s. Production
Credit Corporation offered credit life insurance to members, a
product that was enthusiastically received. The first insurance
program limited the member’s coverage to the actual amount due
on his loan but was expanded to cover the full extent of the loan
commitment.
