Family Care Program Partnering with UNG PEAKS Program
Our Family Care Program had the pleasure of having PEAKS( Personal Enrichment, Action, and Knowledge Series) Program from the University of North Georgia to present to our kinship families. The PEAKS Program offers free weekly presentations and hands-on workshops to benefit adults 55 +. Additionally, we are partnering with them on their new Intergenerational Summer Camp targeting grandparents raising grandchildren.

Collaboration with Veteran Resources
Fannin County Family Connection had two amazing presentations at our recent collaborative! Tim Doherty from Doc’ s Healing Hives and Honey Foundation and Ken Brennenman from the North Georgia Veterans Assistance discussed the importance of helping our local veterans. Doc’ s Healing Hives and Honey Foundation provides educational programs and a supportive community to help veterans who experience PTSD. Through this organization, Tim and Lisa Doherty have trained over 100 veterans in the vocation of beekeeping. The North Georgia Veterans Assistance has shown prominent affect on the local veterans by helping build accessible porches, offer healthcare resources, and more! Thank you to all of our partners who support Veterans in our local community and surrounding counties!

We are truly grateful to be a beneficiary of this fundraiser. These funds will greatly assist many families who seek our support.
