ON THE COVER PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE KUD S! O Wow! That was my reaction when I arrived at the Club the Tuesday after Easter. I knew the cart barns to the north of the parking lot were coming down as scheduled that week, but was really surprised by how quickly they were completely gone. It will Mark Smith Club President be great to watch the progress of Phase I of our capital improvement plan this summer. We finalized our schedule with Heath Construction last week. Here is a rough outline of what you’ll see: May will look a bit “boring” as all of the site work, utilities, and foundation work is done. June will be more dramatic as the frame for the 3-court tennis and fitness building goes up. July will focus on the exterior and core construction of the building. August will bring a mix of interior and exterior finish work, and we’ll be wrapping up the finishes in September. We expect to be open for tennis play and fitness workouts in early September! The Board would like to thank you for your patience as we will require a few “detours” in order to keep all of our activities open for business this summer. Great service and food - Patrick is the best! We are making progress on our membership goals this year. Early summer is a very active time for Danielle and the staff to bring in new members. With our capital improvement plans, we really have created the most complete collection of year-round social and recreational amenities in Northern Colorado. The Marketing Committee has implemented a direct mail campaign to attract new members. Also, as I mentioned in my March message, we are running a US Open referral contest for existing members. To support these efforts, we are hosting two Open House events in May (May 3 and 17) and two in June (June 8 and 22). Please feel free to bring your friends and prospective members out to one of these events. If these dates don’t work, Danielle will always be available to show your guests the great amenities we have at the Club. Finally, I’d like to let you know that the Board approved a new logo for Fort Collins Country Club in April. We reviewed many alternatives and in the end concluded that the incorporation of a cottonwood leaf was a great symbol of our Club. Scott will cover more about the decision in his update this month. See you at the Club! 2 :: MAY 2014 MOTHER’S DAY brunch & dinner On Sunday, May 11 treat Mom to an extra special day and let us do the pampering!
