fore! GOLF OUTINGS There’s a new program here at the Club this summer - a Caddie Program under the Colorado Golf Association. We have from four to six young Caddies to kick off the 2014 season. Each Caddie must: • Caddie a minimum of twelve loops or rounds each month. • Volunteer two hours of their time a month to a local organization. • Attend a one hour leadership class here at the Club. • Have a 3.0 GPA. Joe Basta is our Caddie Chairman and John Hanrahan will be the Caddie Master. The first twelve loops of the month are paid from the funds that Joe & other members raised. We only ask that you consider tipping the Caddies after their round. After their twelve rounds, they are still available and we urge you to utilize their time for a mere $20 each round, excluding tip. The Caddies will need to be paid in cash and we urge you to please keep that in mind. Our goal is to have at least 48 Caddie rounds a month. The program will operate from Memorial weekend through the middle of August. The Caddies will still be available after that time frame on a pay as you go basis. How can you reserve a Caddie? Text John at (970) 222-7372. Please allow 24 hours notice when wanting to reserve a Caddie. Your Caddie will: Be nice and polite; carry your clubs; find your golf ball; understand basic golf etiquette; work hard. The Caddie is going to be learning on every round and you are a critical element in their education. We have an opportunity as a Club and as members to make a difference in today’s world and the ability to do it in our own back yard. We are the only golf course north of Denver to offer a Caddie Program! We thank you in advance for your support of your Caddie Program. Tell us about your experience and if you have a great experience, tell your friends! We would like to thank those who donated funds and their time to make this program happen this year. An extra thanks to Joe who worked with members of our Club to raise the funds so the program could get off the ground. The amount of grip pressure sometimes depends on the student. However, most of the time, golfers squeeze the club too tight. This prevents proper release and power. As you stand at address and grip the club, a person should be able to grab the head of the club and move it easily. As this is done you will notice that your hands and wrists will move, but not so much will your arms move. If you are gripping too tight your arms and even your body posture will move. As stated above, grip pressure should be light. However, depending on your ball flight the amount of pressure is different. Example, if you hook the ball, a firmer hold will limit your release and help control a hook. Opposite of that, if you slice the ball, a less pressured grip would work better for you.
