O
nce again, Thailand is hosting Food ingredients (Fi) Asia 2017,
the 22 nd edition of Asia’s leading food ingredients exhibition brought
in by UBM Asia Thailand. The exhibition is back with more than what
it has offered in the past.
Year after year, as the food and beverages (F&B) industry continues
to grow, Fi Asia keeps expanding 25% annually over the last four
years, maintaining its position as the most important business
meeting place for the Southeast Asian F&B industry.
With recovering world economy and continuing growth rates in a
number of emerging markets, the F&B industry is expected to enjoy
higher consumer demands, enabling it to rise through any challenges.
Thailand, internationally known as the “Kitchen of the World”, is
undoubtedly a perfect venue for Fi Asia. The country’s culinary scene is
blessed with abundant resources, expertise and global recognition for its
high industry standards. Emphasising this positive prospect, Fi Asia 2017 is
proud to bring together food and beverage industry professionals from
across Southeast Asia and the world. Over 750 local and international F&B
ingredients will be exhibited, offering opportunities to key stakeholders
across the globe to negotiate and close deals.
Business networking can also be enhanced, as this year’s exhibition
expects to welcome more than 17,000 industry professionals from
over 70 countries, not to mention the presentation of up-to-date
and in-depth knowledge on F&B trends with world-class educational
programmes. Besides, following the government’s Thailand 4.0
Economic Policy that focuses on driving the country’s economy
forward through high-tech industries and innovations, the 22 nd
edition of Fi Asia has been especially designed to show a wide range
of innovation-based highlights. “Innovation Tours” will take guests
around the Fi Asia 2017 exhibition hall, allowing them to explore the
latest food innovations and connect with internationally renowned
partners in the F&B industry. Meanwhile, “Innovation Zone” keeps
participants updated with new ingredients in a conveniently
arranged location, whilst “Discovery Tour” will encourage everyone
to take a self-guided tour to discover ingredient solutions to any
product development challenges.
The significant growth could not have occurred without the continued
support of our valuable partners: the Ministry of Industry, the National
Food Institute (NFI), the Food Science and Technology Association
of Thailand (FoSTAT), Thailand Institue of Scientific and Technological
Research (TISTR), the Federation of Institutes of Food Science and
Technology in ASEAN (FIFSTA), Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart
University, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB),
as well as other food processor associations around ASEAN. I would
like to extend my grateful thanks to all of our true partners.

Last but not least, to maintain our position as a global business-to-
business event organiser, we, UBM expands our global presence
by announcing late last year the acquisition of Allworld, a leading
privately owned Asian exhibitions business. This ambitious deal
enables us to cover 350 annual events, ranging from food,
hospitality and manufacturing, to oil and gas industries, which is in
line with UBM’s Events First Strategy and represents an exceptional
opportunity to accelerate our growth.
Now you know there is no other place in Southeast Asia where you’d
rather be right now. Join us in Fi Asia 2017 on 13-15 September 2017
at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Bangkok.
