ith a proud history of catering to the food and beverage
ingredients market in ASEAN for 22 years, Food ingredients (Fi) Asia is
the largest food ingredients exhibition in ASEAN devoted exclusively
to food and beverage ingredients. Show expands over 35% bigger
than year 2015 edition, Fi Asia 2017 will bring together an expected
700 leading local, regional and international Ingredients supplier
from 56 countries, and more than 17,000 trade visitors to taste, think
and talk food ingredients.
According to UBM Asia Group Director, Rungphech (Rose)
Chitanuwat “ASEAN is a high potential market for food ingredients
as ASEAN becomes global food hub. There are a number of
trends, including that there are about 37 million middle-to-upper
income consumers who are eager to try new food and beverages.
Especially Thais in urban areas (52% of the population) increasingly
spend more on imported food items and have become relatively
brand conscious and are changing their eating habits to accept
more western style foods. Food Trends in 2017-2018 has been studied
by various research organizations, in summary we can interpret that
the consumers are looking for healthy food, clean label, organic
food, food from natural, sugar alternatives, recourse to traditional
and local. Not only those trend directly related to food choice,
but consumer also looking for convenience, time efficiency and
considering food waste which means on concern to choose food
for their living based on volume to have just enough food for a meal
within their time limitation. These all points are the starting focus that
will drive to food and beverage producer to relook at their strategy
to develop food and beverage to the market. Fi Asia 2017 will have
more than just exhibition to showcase the ingredients for those trend
to F&B producer but also there will be knowledge platform which will
share to audiences on Food trend, innovation of product for aging
society, alternative ingredients for producers.”
“Fi Asia is unique – it is a one-stop-shop for all your F&B ingredient
needs, and is a proven regional business platform. Feedback from
Fi Asia visitors is that they save time and money, by meeting face-
to-face with top F&B ingredient suppliers, all in one place at one
time. They can also take advantage of our extensive seminar and
conference program and many other show highlights, to be inspired
by the latest research, and groundbreaking innovations, by industry
thought leaders, to discuss their needs, and get the information and
contacts they need to grow their business.” said by UBM Asia Group
