S
ummertime, I reside in New Jersey which enjoys
four seasons, in general equal parts of the four; however summertime seems to go so quickly. Those steamy lazy days, of extending daylight, children laughing, playing, bike riding; with its trees and gardens in full bloom. Oh how I love those do nothing days at the beach and outdoor feast with family and friends. Why must these days end? Seasons are necessary else we would play our lives away. Naturally speaking we need Winter to tell us when to come back from the excesses of Summer. Spiritually speaking, Winter’s lack makes us plant a better seed in Spring for an expected harvest in the Fall. The toil of bringing in the fruit of the harvest- helps us not to be wasteful in the leisure of summer. In our spiritual lives, some rain must fall Spring, to make us appreciated the Sunshine of Summer- The hard, bitterness of our trials Winter, makes us celebrate with joy the bounty of favor Fall . If you are like me and you can recount more tears than joy or the abundance of trials makes you forget your previous Favor. This should encourage us to make the most of SUMMERTIME… although it is short, know that it is necessary to keep us in balance of : thankful, grateful, and hopeful. Meditate on your spiritual summers- so the harsh winters do not make you bitter.
Be Blessed!
