The 1970s fashion quickly became the “me” fashion era. Many people at this time didn’t think much about what other people would think about about they were wearing and it was just a lot of self expression (maybe that’s why it all looks so crazy!). Obvious trends included flared or “bell-bottom” pants, tunics, pantsets, leisure suits, and overalls. Exotic prints, polyester fabrics, checks, bright colors, embroidered details, and satin, corduroy or velvet textures were very popular as well. Although people weren’t thinking about what your clothing looked like they did definitely think about where they got it. Rich or pore it didn’t matter how much you when it came to fashion all worries about money would be thrown out the window. The biggest difference between the types was both class and taste. Like “Hippie” style was very big all throughout the 70’s, but there was also a thing called “designer” hippie. Of course the latter would be more likely to style there outfits according to the latest trends, whereas the former would be less likely to follow them and would just mix them as they pleased.
