CRAZY FOR KHAKI

By Ryan Hill

2017 certainly isn ’ t the first time khaki has been in high demand – and you can guarantee it won ’ t be the last . Every so often and usually out of nowhere , khaki – the most versatile shade of green – makes a big comeback . And it ’ s easy to see why .

A neutral colour that looks superb when paired with black or other similarly earthy tones , khaki is a must-have in every wardrobe . Looking strong and stylish on both men and women , khaki pieces are essential ammunition in your autumn / winter arsenal , and are adaptable enough to also carry you through the spring . But when , and how , should you be wearing khaki ? Khaki can definitely be worn on a daily basis ; it is understated enough for a day at the office , while casual and cool enough for play .
On women , military coats can be a big statementmaker , as not only do they ooze confidence and daring , they also evoke a sense of power and authority . If you ’ d rather play it a little safer though , the evergreen parka jacket still has a part to play , while smaller biker jackets can add sass to any outfit .
Khaki trousers can also provide a solid foundation for a variety of looks , while running shoes in the shade are proving popular with sportier types of late .
For men , crew neck sweatshirts in khaki are definitely trending right now ( at least with those in the know ), and look incredibly sleek when coupled with fitted black jeans . We are seeing a lot of khaki t-shirts landing on the high street too – and these look superb under a slim black bomber jacket .
And , as with women ’ s fashion , khaki trainers are fast becoming a staple of the urban man ’ s wardrobe , thanks not only to their versatility , but their durability , too . FL
